Flying Start WINS The Guardian University Awards 2018 in the Course and Curriculum Design section.

Lead judge of this category said:

We were particularly interested in entries that were operating at scale, taking a whole Institutional approach to achieve their outcomes. We will be interested to see the longer term outcomes of our winner, but there’s no doubt that it has taken off with immediate impact. Innovation runs throughout the winner’s entry, from its understanding of their students and the relationships through to its structure and its content. We were particularly impressed by the delivery of this project, it must have overcome much turbulence in order to motivate staff to work together in diverse areas of the University over the summer months.
