iPark Accessibility Statement

This website is run by The University of Huddersfield’s Strategic Teaching and Learning Team using WordPress.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

The text within this site should be clear and easy to understand. For example, the user should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
  • To access some of these tools click on the icon on left-hand side (visible on every page) where you can increase/decrease text, set grayscale, high contrast, negative or light background and set readable font.

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We aim to make this website as accessible as possible. However, we know some parts of this website are not fully accessible.

Some of the older existing content is inaccessible as videos do not have captions as these are identified below:

  • Assessment in Brightspace page 2 videos under The Assignment setup wizard: An Overview of Assessments in Brightspace and How-to Create Summative Assessments in Brightspace videos
  • All of our other videos provide Open Captioning, but we are working towards all of our videos having Closed Captioning.
  • Most older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software – we are working to bring more accessible documents in updated versions. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
