Teaching and Learning Innovation Projects 2013
There are 11 projects running from September 2012 to December 2013 and they are themed around the Institute priorities which are:
- Inspirational teaching - how to motivate students to learn and broaden their horizons
- Student retention factors: engaging and enabling students to succeed (including contact time)
- Employability and connections to professions

There were 9 projects running from September 2011 to December 2012 and were themed around the Institute priorities:
- Assessment and feedback to students: supporting elements of the University’s Assessment and Feedback Strategy
- e-learning (efficient and effective use of resources)

Teaching and Learning Innovation Projects 2011
There were twelve projects that were funded in 2011, some involve technology
One example is a current project led by Andrew Walsh called Lemon Tree and seeks to increase the use of library resources through a social, game based elearning platform. Users will register with the system and be able to earn points and rewards for interacting with library resources, such as leaving comments and reviews of library books. Integration with other social networks such as Twitter and Facebook will be built into the system.
2010 - Inspire projects: The first Inspire projects focused on making the most of the University's streaming server by building a range of teaching and learning resources that showcase the varied and diverse ways in which streaming can be used as well as building training resources which support students and staff in their use. The second looked at how to integrate learning development into the student experience.
2010 - small scale projects: In this category projects dealt with building a mobile application for PDP, developing video tutorials to support student learning and using a social network to support student transition into HE.
